2010 Kingston Town Stakes Final Field & Betting Preview

September 9th, 2010

A cracker day of racing is set to take place at Rosehill this Saturday as the esteemed course hosts the next major meeting of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.

Three group races headline the programme, including the $125,000 Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m).

The 2010 Kingston Town Stakes has attracted a field of nine gallopers including one of the early favourites at Sportsbet Herculian Prince.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding is coming off an eye-catching third to Neeson in the Tramway Quality Handicap at Randwick and is heading towards a run in the 2010 Caulfield Guineas.

Herculian Prince has drawn ideally in barrier two for the Kingston Town Stakes and will be ridden by in-form hoop Hugh Bowman.

The other horse that has gained popularity with the punters thanks to a favourable barrier one draw is No Wine No Song, the veteran runner looking to improve after their eighth place finish in the Chlemsford Stakes last weekend.

Another top pick in the Kingston Town betting markets is Zabeel gelding Scouting Wide.

The Tim Martin-trained six-year-old is in great form having placed second in both of their spring starts including the Premiers Cup at the same track last start.

Looking good for a Place bet through Sportsbet is Peter Moody’s improving four-year-old Triumphant Choice, the son of Redoute’s Choice having won two races over 1713m and 2000m before running fourth in the Heatherlie Handicap.

The other feature events at Rosehill on Saturday are the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1400m) headlined by Group 1 winners More Joyous, Rothesay and Sniper’s Bullet, and the Group 3 Research Stakes for fillies and mares.

If you are planning to have a punt on the Rosehill Races this weekend why not ditch the TAB and get a better price on all of your favourites by signing up with Ladbrokes.com.au, the online bookmaker for smart punters!
